About LinguaSlang

Because "the book said so" is not how anyone actually talks.

What We Do

LinguaSlang is a free slang and cultural translation tool built for real communication โ€” not textbook communication. We use advanced AI to translate phrases the way local speakers actually say them, complete with regional variants, tonal nuance, and pronunciation guides tailored to your native language.

When you ask how to say "I'm exhausted" in Japanese, we don't give you the dictionary entry. We give you what a Tokyo college student would say to their friends at 2am after a study session โ€” with the cultural context to back it up.

Why We Built This

Language classrooms and standard translation tools share one big blind spot: they teach the language of textbooks, not the language of life. The gap between knowing a language and sounding natural in it has always been filled by years of immersion, exposure, and often embarrassing trial and error.

LinguaSlang closes that gap. Whether you're preparing for travel, connecting with a global community online, studying a new language, or just curious what that phrase actually means โ€” we give you authentic, living language rather than sanitized academic translations.

We believe language is culture. Every idiom, every piece of slang, every regional expression carries the fingerprint of the people who created it. Understanding slang means understanding people.

What Makes LinguaSlang Different

  • 13 languages: English, Spanish, Japanese, French, Arabic, Korean, Portuguese, German, Hindi, Italian, Russian, Chinese, and Turkish โ€” with more on the way.
  • Regional accuracy: Mexican Spanish is not Spain Spanish. Cairo Arabic is not Gulf Arabic. Tokyo Japanese is not Osaka Japanese. We know the difference.
  • Source-language pronunciation: Pronunciation guides are written for speakers of your language, not generic IPA that nobody reads.
  • Cultural context: We explain not just what to say, but when it's appropriate โ€” and when it would get you in trouble.
  • Tone control: Casual, street slang, formal, romantic, humorous, professional โ€” you decide the register.
  • Completely free: No account. No paywall. No subscription. Just translate.
